Hemp potato, commonly known as "hemp", is an elastic and sticky traditional food made of glutinous rice flour or other starch, which originated in China. The so-called cake (もちち/mochi) in Japan is actually a rice cake (a big difference from Chinese and Korean rice cakes is that Japanese rice cakes are soft and sticky).
Ma potato is also called "grass cake" in Chinese mainland, "Chan" in Dalian and "Ma chicken" in Taiwan Province.
