Liyang is located between Maoshan Mountain and Taihu Lake, with hills and plains accounting for about half of the land area each, and rich in non-metallic mineral reserves. There are limestone, calcite, bentonite .
Liyang traditional Chinese medicinal herbs include tai ginseng, platycodon, yucca, xia ku
grass, motherwort and so on.
The local specialties include fish head in casserole, za liver, saffron, crow's feet rice, white (water) celery, and hairy flower red.
Tianmu Lake White Tea (Tianmu Lake White Tea, produced in Liyang, China, showed its elegance and jumped to the top ten famous teas of Shanghai World Expo in 2010 and became the special tea for the United Nations Pavilion in Shanghai World Expo).
