High flour or whole wheat flour 300g
Salt 1 tsp
Dry yeast 3/4 tsp
Warm water 200ml
How to make simple white bread without oil and sugar ?
Flour salt mix, warm water yeast mix; mix wet and dry ingredients, mix with a wooden spoon and knead by hand to form a ball, cover and let rise for 10 minutes
Pull up the dough once, press from side to center, turn down the bowl, and repeat 8 times; let rise for 10 minutes. Repeat kneading and resting, 4 times total***.
Turn the dough over after the fourth time; the dough should be a smooth ball.
Ferment for 1 hour, double in size, and gently press the dough with your fist to release the air. Take it out and shape it into a toast mold and let it rise for a second time until slightly less than 2 times its size (30-45 minutes)
Twenty minutes before baking, preheat the oven to 240 degrees Fahrenheit, preventing a flat baking sheet in the bottom of the oven. Once the dough has risen, place it in the oven, pour a cup of water over the baking sheet to create steam, reduce the oven temperature to 200 degrees and bake for 35 minutes until the bottom, when tapped, sounds hollow
