In the modern Chinese dictionary, "bandits" means "local armed gangs or their members who rob houses for a living", and the definition of "bandits" is "bandits, bad guys who rob property". From the dictionary meaning, we can easily see that the word bandit is an out-and-out derogatory term. In the book History of Bandits, bandits are divided into six categories: accumulated bandits, righteous bandits, soldiers bandits, foreign bandits, political bandits and sea bandits, lake bandits and mountain bandits. Among them, the righteous bandits refer to the righteous among the bandits, who are quite narrow-minded and often uphold justice for the people. Therefore, they can get help and support from the masses and will put the overall situation first before the national justice.
