The red-tailed crown fish is a wooden stick, covered with metallic blue, with a dark red head and forehead. The gills are covered with several blue-green arcs under a dark red background, and the dorsal fin is edged with orange, while the metallic blue of pectoral fin and gluteal fin is inlaid with milky white highlights. The young of the red-tailed crown fish is very similar to the young sapphire fish at the age of two or three months, but when carefully identified, the young red-tailed crown fish is dark gray with light red edges on the tail and dorsal fin, while the young sapphire fish is light gray.

The red-tailed crown fish can reach 13 ~ 25cm in length. When the environment changes, it is easy to jump from a dark environment to a bright environment; On the contrary, it is more stable.

The red-tailed crown fish is a bottom fish with strong regional habits. Usually used to gather and play in places such as small bridges and rockeries. Raising

The red-tailed crested fish is a large cichlid, and the aquarium needs at least 9cm× 4cm× 4cm. The feeding water temperature is 2 ~ 28℃, and the most suitable living water temperature is 27℃. The requirements for water quality are not strict, and it can grow and develop normally in weak acid to weak alkaline soft and hard water. The author has done experiments. During the feeding period, the water is weakly alkaline and moderately hard. When the fish is put into weakly acidic soft water during breeding, there is no big reaction, and the spawning and embryo development are normal. Later, the young fish were raised in weak acidic soft water, and the water was converted into weak alkaline hard water when the fish was a little older, but no adverse reactions occurred in the color and surface of the fish.

The red-tailed crown fish is a carnivorous fish, which likes to eat small fish, shrimps, breadworms, etc., and can also be fed with homemade animal bait. If you want to keep the fish colorful, first, you should ensure sufficient light, and the strong light irradiation should not be less than 8 hours every day; The second is to put in green algae bait, appropriately increase shrimp and carotene, and feed them once a day in the morning and evening.
