How to catch hairtail?
Hairtail, also known as toothfish, swordfish, Undaria pinnatifida, sea swordfish, etc., is a warm temperate fish in the upper and middle layers of offshore waters and is one of the main fish in China's four major sea areas. They like to inhabit the offshore waters of 20 ~ 40m, swim to the shallow water of15m during breeding, and live in the deep water of 30m in winter, and feed all year round.

Fishing point selection

Hairtail likes warm water, Bai Tianxi lives in the place where there is light sediment on the seabed, enters the middle and upper layers of water at dawn and dusk, and the happy group moves vertically, mainly preying on small fish. When fishing hairtail, it is the key to find the water area and water layer where hairtail is active. Once found, the bait rate is very high. Generally speaking, it is appropriate to choose fishing spots in the shallow offshore waters of10 ~ 20 meters.

Bait species

Hairtail is fierce and gluttonous, feeding all day long, and almost no choice of bait is made, so it is not necessary to use bait to make a nest when fishing hairtail. Because hairtail hardly chooses meat bait, all kinds of small fish, shrimps and mollusks can be used as bait, and the fishing effect is very good.

Fishing method

Because hairtail lives in a deep sea area, it needs to be caught by boat, and its fishing methods are mainly as follows.

The prerequisite for fishing exploration is to find fish with fish and then fish. Because the hairtail is not big, and the fisherman is on the boat, you can use a short pole, about 2 meters long, a medium-sized reel, a main line diameter of 0.4 mm, a medium-sized hook and a double hook. Hairtail is fierce and has sharp teeth, and the common brain thread is easy to be bitten off, so the brain thread should be made of metal thread, and the pendant should be hung with a bell.

When fishing, the bait is first installed on the hook, then the bait hook is thrown into the water to make it sink to the bottom of the water, the fishing line is stretched straight, and then the rod is lifted and put down, and so on for many times. If there is no reaction at the bottom of the water, take back the bait hook for 3 ~ 5 meters, and then fish until the water meter is reached. In the process of fishing, if the hand feels heavy, it means that the hairtail bites the hook. At this time, there is no need to hurry to lift the rod. You can wait for a while and then lift the rod after the hairtail swallows the bait hook, so as to avoid unhooking and running away. When fishing for fish, you should write down the depth of the fishing, and then hook the bait to this depth every time, and you can catch fish again and again until there are no fish to fish in this water layer.

Towing and towing is when the ship is moving, it throws the bait hook into the water, just like live bait, attracting the hairtail to take the bait. Generally, fishing rod is not needed for towing, only 1 reel is used, and the main thread with a diameter of 0.5 ~ 0.6 mm and a length of about 50 meters is wound on it. The metal brain thread at the end is made of multi-strand stainless steel silk thread or copper wire, and the hook is made of a special long handle with a hook, and a multi-purpose double hook is used, and a pendant is attached to the end of the hook, about 20g.

After the hook is loaded with bait, it sinks into the bottom of the water along the boat, and then sails, and multiple fishing lines can be cast at a time. In order to avoid the fishing lines from being entangled together, the boat should pay attention to going as straight as possible and not turning sharply when sailing. When the boat is sailing, the fisherman can sit near the reel. If the hand feels heavy, it means that the hairtail is hooked, and the line can be quickly lifted to collect the fish. Towing fishing is generally suitable for hairtail feeding peak, and the fishing point is selected in shallow water near the coast10 ~ 20 meters. When towing fishing, don't operate too close to the string, so as to avoid the danger of the hull tilting.
