The roe deer is a second-grade protected animal.
The roe deer is included in China's List of Beneficial or Economically and Scientifically Important Terrestrial Wild Animals under State Protection because of its high economic value. The roe deer is about 1.2 meters long and weighs about 30 kilograms, with a slender neck and large eyes and ears. No fangs, hind limbs slightly longer than the front limbs, tail short, male roe deer have horns, female roe deer without horns, male long horns only divided into three forks.
The roe deer body grass yellow, tail root under the white hair, tail only 2-3 cm, roe deer love to pair activities, winter male roe deer with two or three female roe deer and young roe deer together. Male roe deer horns fall off in winter, the new horns at the latest in March began to rise long, June and July to grow into, at this time into the rutting period. Male roe deer use their horns to peel off the bark and leave the secretion of the odor glands in the forehead as a sign of their territory. The roe deer are usually twins.
Life habits:
Like to eat the shoots, buds and leaves of shrubs and all kinds of grass, small berries, mushrooms, etc., usually by the female roe deer and their offspring constitute a family group, usually 3-5, morning and evening activities to grass, mushrooms, berries for food, the male roe deer midsummer to join the group.
The roe deer mostly inhabits in the sparse forest zone, mostly in the river valley and gentle slopes (elevation generally not more than 2,400 meters), roe deer timid temperament, the daytime more inhabited in the dense forests, morning and evening will be in the open pasture or bushes activities. They are widely found in the northeastern provinces of China.
