The grandson of Thailand's Red Bull founder, Worayu Yowaiya Worayu Yowaiya, was involved in a hit-and-run case that went as follows:
Worayu was killed in the early morning hours of Sept. 3, 2012, when he drove his Ferrari on 47th Street in Bangkok's downtown area, Sukhumvit 47, killing police patrol officer Wisian Grampasok, who was left for dead in tragic circumstances. He died in a horrific manner with multiple injuries and broken arms and legs.
Police searched several blocks for traces of gasoline leaking from the car before finding the Hsu family's luxury home in a wealthy Bangkok neighborhood. Thai media said the sports car dragged police and motorcycles for some distance before speeding away.
Over the years, Worayu has repeatedly refused to be arraigned by prosecutors, citing ill health or business trips abroad. The latest arraignment was originally scheduled for April 27th.
Thailand's law-enforcement agencies have been criticized by public opinion in their own country for being too slow to move forward with the case against Worayuk. Just last week, Thai police finally issued an arrest warrant for the broad.
