1. There are three ways to raise snakes: snake farm, snake house and snake box. ?
(1) Snakes are kept in snake farms. ?
The site should be selected in a secluded, high-lying place near the water source. Around to build by laying bricks or stones more than 2 meters of solid wall, the foundation of the wall 0.5~0.8 meters, filled with cement. The wall inside the wall should be painted gray, black or grass green, but not white. The inner wall should be smooth and seamless, and the four corners should be made into circular arcs, which must not be at right angles. Otherwise, the snake will escape along the wall with the help of a 90-degree right angle and rely on the belly scales to clamp the sides of the snake. The entrance and exit of the fence must have two floors, with the inner door facing the snake farm and the outer door facing the outside, which is safer. The fence of the snake farm can also be used without going in and out, and wooden ladders are used every time. There are snake holes, pools, ditches, feed ponds, spawning rooms and activity fields in the snake farm. Some small shrubs and short grass can be planted on the playground, and some stone piles can be built, which is beneficial to shading, cooling and snake molting in summer. Keep the snake farm clean, moist, cool and sanitary. ?
(2) Snakes are kept in snake houses. Indoor and outdoor can be combined to imitate the natural environment of snakes in the wild. The houses and walls of the snake house need to be specially designed and used. There should be a pool in the house, and a few pots of flowers should be placed properly to increase the humidity of the snake house, which is conducive to the healthy growth of snakes. ?
(3) snakes are kept in snake boxes. Generally, it is built in a room with good ventilation and lighting or at the edge of the room, and it is mostly built into a rectangle. The size and height depend on the kind and number of snakes. The snake box can be made of wood or brick. You can lay 5 cm thick wet sand in the snake box and put a few suitable stones around it to hide the snake and shed its skin. The snake box is generally 2.5m long, 1 m wide and 0.8m high. The snake box should have movable shutters and metal nets to prevent the snake from escaping. Feed 1~2 times a week, change water and soil frequently, and keep the snake box clean. ?
Generally, about 10 snakes can be raised per square meter, and more small snakes can be put appropriately. Most of the artificially fed foods are live mice, golden hamsters, frogs, toads, loaches or small fish. Insects such as earthworm, Tenebrio molitor and Eupolyphaga Seu Steleophaga can be cultivated artificially to meet the needs of large-scale snake breeding. Feeding should be broad-spectrum and diversified to ensure the health and growth of snakes. ?
Second, the autumn and winter foster care law. It was when these snakes entered the hibernation period in autumn and winter that they were collected, cultivated and sold, and then they came out of the sting the next year. The price of snakes is the highest in February and March every year, which is 2~3 times higher than usual. First, dig a pool with a length of 6m, a width of 2.5m and a depth of 1 m, dig several small square pools with a depth of 0.3m on both sides of the pool, then dig a ditch with a depth of 0.4m in the middle for people to go in and out or feed and observe, then put wooden boards horizontally on the pool, pile up1.5m of soil or cover it with corn stalks, so that all snakes in the snake pool can safely overwinter. ?
Third, the reproduction and incubation of snakes. When snakes are sexually mature, they usually start mating when they molt for the first time after waking up from hibernation every year. Because the sperm of the male snake can survive in the female snake for several years, the female snake will mate at most 3-4 times in her life, and the female snake will lay eggs at the beginning of June or the end of August every year, ranging from a few to more than 20. The temperature of artificial incubation must be controlled between 20℃ and 27℃, and the relative humidity should be controlled between 74% and 95%. Because of different kinds of snakes, the incubation time of snakes is different. The shortest incubation time is 25 days, and the longest is about 55 days. ?
Fourth, the breeding of young snakes. The feeding method of young snakes is very simple, as long as they are put in a small box, only with water and no food, because the yolk in their stomachs can last for about 5 days. With the depletion of yolk, the mobility of young snakes is gradually enhanced. At this time, small insects, earthworms or small soil frogs can be fed, and after a certain period of time, they can be fed like big snakes. ?
Five, the prevention and treatment of snake disease. Common snake diseases in artificial snake breeding include mildew spot, stomatitis and acute pneumonia. ?
(1) mildew. In rainy season, due to low terrain or poor drainage, there is water in the snake nest or long-term high tide. It is common for a sick snake to have black spots on its belly scales. If not treated in time, it will cause local ulceration and death. The treatment method is: apply 2% iodine tincture to the mildew spot twice a day, and it will heal in one week. ?
(2) stomatitis. After the snake is stung, some harmful bacteria will invade the snake's neck and cause swollen stomatitis because of its thin body. The sick snake couldn't shut its mouth, couldn't swallow food, and finally starved to death because it didn't eat or drink. The treatment method is: wash the sick snake's mouth with normal saline, then wipe both jaws with gentian violet solution, and wash and rub once a day until the inflammation is relieved and the swelling subsides. ?
(3) acute pneumonia. In July and August, the female snake after laying eggs got the disease because she was weak and did not adapt to the high temperature. The sick snake will have difficulty breathing, swim uneasily, and will not return to the cave, and eventually die of respiratory failure. The treatment method is: 800,000 units of Streptomyces powder are wrapped in frog skin for 8 times, fed to sick snakes, and washed down with clear water. 65438+ 0~2 times a day, usually 3~4 days can be cured. ?
Six, regular deworming. Mosquito repellent is carried out twice a year in early summer and late autumn, and snakes are given a drink and bath in the pool, which can get obvious results. ?
Recommend several kinds of meat snakes. Do you know how many kinds of snakes there are in China? According to statistics, there are 173 kinds of snakes in China, of which 48 are poisonous snakes and the rest are nontoxic. Meat snake refers to a large, fast-growing and non-poisonous snake, which is generally eaten or used as medicine. In order to make snake breeders familiar with and understand their life and production performance, several kinds of meat snakes with large size, fast growth, good development, many eggs (or nests), fresh meat and good breeding benefits are introduced below. ?
