1. Pay attention to your diet. The ancients in China said that food is the most important thing for the people, while Confucius and Mencius advocated that food is not tired of essence, which made China pay more attention to the quality and hygiene of diet in ancient times and provided conditions for the development of China's cooking skills.
2. There are various flavors. There has always been a saying in China that the south rice is north, and the tastes are divided into sweet in the south, salty in the north, sour in the east and spicy in the west, mainly including Bashu, Qilu, Huaiyang, Guangdong and Fujian;
3. The diet is mainly cereals. China's ancient agriculture was developed, and its farming civilization was constantly developed and matured, which determined the diet structure of China with grain as its staple food. Grains refer to five kinds of food crops: rice, wheat, millet and glutinous rice.
4. Four seasons are different. In ancient China, people especially emphasized the coordination and synchronization between diet and cosmic rhythm. Confucius may have two meanings when eating: one is to eat regularly, and the other is not to eat out-of-season food, which is mellow in winter, light and cool in summer, stewed in winter and frozen in summer.
