The prototype of the TV series "Legendary Boss" is Fengzeyuan, a famous Shandong cuisine store.

The story begins with the May 4th Movement and focuses on the historical changes of two major restaurants in Beijing. It tells the legendary story of a beggar boy named Luan Tangxue who fled from Shandong to Beijing to beg for a living. He struggled step by step from the grassroots level to become the boss of Fengzeyuan, one of the eight famous restaurants in Beijing, and finally became the president of Beiping Catering Association.
