In the spring of the following year, the scale buds on the underground stems gave birth to tender stems, which are edible asparagus. The tender stems softened by the soil are white, which is our common white asparagus; Young stems that grow on the ground and are not softened by soil cultivation will turn green after light. We call it green asparagus. Asparagus likes warm and ventilated environment, and high temperature and stagnant water are easy to cause decay. Therefore, asparagus should choose sandy loam with rich organic matter, good air permeability, deep soil layer and convenient irrigation and drainage. The PH value can be between 5.0 and 7.0.
Asparagus is not particularly strict about moisture and temperature. We just need to keep the soil moist at ordinary times. In summer, the temperature is relatively high, so it is enough to water it twice a day. If you only need to water once in winter, you can prepare the soil and fertilize it. Choose loam or sandy loam with loose soil, good fertilizer and water conditions and strong air permeability. Digging depth is about 30cm, applying 2,000 ~ 3,000kg of base fertilizer every 667m, turning the fertilizer into the soil, leveling the ground, and making the east-west boundary, with the boundary length of10 ~15m.
First of all, the soil conditions are better. Choose soil with fertile soil, deep soil layer, fertilizer, strong water retention and good air permeability. The texture is very suitable for sandy loam, loam and light loam, and the clay is not suitable for asparagus growth without improvement. Variety selection: winter lettuce and spring lettuce are cold-resistant, adaptable and late bolting varieties, such as "cold-resistant white leaf fruit", "cold-resistant double white skin" and "Ruoman leaf". For summer and autumn lettuce, choose heat-resistant and early-maturing varieties, such as "cold-resistant white leaves".
