Evaluation Standards for Star-Rated Hotels of the People's Republic of China

Foreword

This standard replaces GB/T 14308-1997 "Foreign-related Hotel Star Ratings for Tourism" Division and Assessment”.

The main changes in this standard compared with GB/T 14308-1997 are as follows:

a) Use "tourist hotel" to replace "tourist foreign-related hotel", and clarify the definition of tourism in accordance with international practice Definition of hotel;

b) The validity period of star rating for tourist hotels is stipulated to be five years, the lifetime system of star rating is cancelled, and reserve star rating is added (see 5.2);

c) The star rating rules are clarified (see 7.5), and some hotels with outstanding features or extremely personalized can directly apply for star ratings from the national tourist hotel star rating agency (see 7.5.3);

d) The requirements for catering services are appropriately simplified (original standards 6.1.6, 6.2.6, 6.3.7c, e, 6.4.9b, d, e, 6.5.9b, c, e, f);

e) Change the minimum number of one-star hotel rooms from the original 20 to 15 (see 6.1.8);

f) Change the original standard to three-star The above hotel selection items were merged and summarized into four major categories: "Comprehensive Category", "Featured Category 1", "Featured Category 2" and "Featured Category 3". 1 Scope

This standard stipulates the classification conditions, assessment rules, service quality and management system requirements for tourist hotels.

This standard applies to all kinds of tourist hotels of economic nature that are officially open.

2 Normative reference documents

The provisions in the following documents become provisions of this standard through reference in this standard. For dated reference documents, all subsequent amendments (excluding corrigenda) or revisions do not apply to this standard. However, parties to an agreement based on this standard are encouraged to study whether the latest versions of these documents can be used. . For undated referenced documents, the latest edition applies to this standard.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this standard:

3.1

3.2

star-rating

Use the number and color of stars to indicate the level of a tourist hotel.

The star rating is divided into five levels, namely one-star, two-star, three-star, four-star and five-star (including platinum five-star). The lowest is one star and the highest is platinum five stars. The higher the star rating, the higher the grade of the tourist hotel.

3.3

Probationary star-rating

As a supplement to the star rating, its level is the same as the star rating.

4 Symbols

The star rating is symbolized by a gold-plated five-pointed star, with one five-pointed star representing one star rating, two five-pointed stars representing two stars, and three five-pointed stars representing three stars. Four five-pointed stars represent four-star rating, five five-pointed stars represent five-star rating, and five platinum five-pointed stars represent platinum five-star rating.

5 General Principles

5.1 The management and use rights of a hotel composed of several buildings should be consistent. All areas in the hotel, including the rental business area, should be a whole, and the star rating should be It cannot be treated differently because of the separation of property rights or management rights in a certain area.

5.2 A hotel can apply for star rating one year after its opening. After being evaluated and approved by the star rating agency, it can enjoy the right to use the star rating and its logo that is valid for five years. Hotels that have been open for less than one year can apply for reserve star rating, which is valid for one year.

5.3 Unless this standard has higher requirements, the hotel's construction, ancillary facilities, services and operation management must comply with current relevant national regulations and standards such as safety, fire protection, sanitation, and environmental protection.

Dividing conditions for 6-star rating

6.1 One-star rating

6.1.1 The layout of the hotel is basically reasonable and convenient for guests to carry out normal activities in the hotel.

6.1.2 Public information graphic symbols comply with GB/T10001.1 and GB/T10001.2. regulations.

6.1.3 There are heating and cooling equipment adapted to the local climate, and all areas are well ventilated.

6.1.4 Facilities and equipment are well maintained and clean, hygienic and effective.

6.1.5 Various instructions and service texts should be expressed in both standardized Chinese and English at least.

6.1.6 Ability to provide services in English.

6.1.7 Front Hall

a. There is a front hall and a main service desk;

6.2.3 There are heating and cooling equipment adapted to the local climate, and all areas are well ventilated.

6.2.4 Facilities and equipment are well maintained and clean, hygienic and effective.

6.2.5 Various instructions and service texts should be expressed in both standardized Chinese and English at least.

6.2.6 Ability to provide services in English.

6.2.7 Front Office

6.3.6 All management systems are sound and consistent with the hotel’s scale and star rating.

6.3.7 Various instructions and service texts should be expressed in both standardized Chinese and English at least.

6.3.8 Each customer service area can provide services in Mandarin and English.

6.3.9 Front Office

6.4.4 There is central air conditioning (except for villa-style resort hotels), and all areas are well ventilated.

6.4.5 There is a computer management system suitable for this grade.

6.4.6 There is a public audio broadcast system; the background music tracks and volume are appropriate and the sound quality is good.

6.4.7 Facilities and equipment are well maintained, noise-free, clean, hygienic and effective.

6.4.8 All management systems are sound and consistent with the hotel’s scale and star rating.

6.4.9 Various instructions and service texts should be expressed in both standardized Chinese and English at least.

6.4.10 Be able to provide services in Mandarin and English, and when necessary, be able to provide services in a second foreign language.

6.4.11 Front Hall
