Shellfish of the sea. Shell height is larger than shell width, about 2/3 of the length, shell top is prominent and rolled inward, about 1/3 in front of the shell, the distance between them is farther, the shell surface is covered with brown crust, which is very easy to fall off, especially at the top, so the shell is often white, the shell dorsal surface with 18 radial ribs, intercostal grooves wider than the ribs; the radial lines are only a few smooth ones at the back, and the rest are all arranged by the granular protrusions, which is fine and dense at the top, to the ventral surface is rough; before the shell is bluntly rounded at the end, extending backward, the shell is smooth, the shell is smooth, the shell is smooth, the shell is smooth, the shell is smooth, the shell is smooth. end bluntly rounded, extending backward, dorsally sloping down, so that the posterior end is pointed and thin. Ligaments of black-brown horny cortex, spearhead-shaped, anterior part of shell apex larger than posterior part, hinged part straight, hinged teeth about 40, thick and sparse at both ends, tapering to a fine density towards the center. Inner surface of shell with depressions corresponding to the ribbed pattern on the margins, without ribs, but with a slightly raised fine radial pattern anterior to the middle, occupying about 2/3 of the area; the closed-shell bone scar is more pronounced and slightly rounded, the latter being larger than the former, and the outer coat membrane is more developed, with undulating margins corresponding to the radial ribs. No foot filaments.
Lives in soft mud flats in shallow seas.
Distributed in China's coastal areas, Shandong, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong and other places are cultured.
2. Hair arkshell
Arca subcrenala Lischke (Anadara subcrenala)--Arcaenidae
Shell height is larger than the shell width, about 3/4 to 4/5 of the shell length, the top of the shell is protruding and the tip of the shell is rolled inward, located in the dorsal front, and there are brownish-brown velvet on the surface of the shell, the top of which can easily fall off. The shell surface is covered with brownish-brown velvet, the top of which is very easy to fall off, so the shell is often white, the anterior edge of the shell is rounded, and gradually extends backward, and the dorsal surface slopes downward, so that the posterior end of the shell is petaloid, and the left shell is slightly larger than the right shell, each shell has 30-34 radial ribs, and the one with 31 is more, the width of ribbing and intercostal grooves are equal, and the edge of the shell has the same number of depressions comparable to those of the ribbing and intercostal grooves. The ribs of the two shells are obviously different, the right shell is extremely smooth except for a few protuberances at the anterior end, while the left shell has only 10 or so smoother ones at the posterior end, the rest being composed of small rectangular protuberances, the radial ribs are weak at the tip and become thicker downwards, the tops of the two shells are farther apart, the ligaments are lanceolate and the hinges are straight, with 50 or so hinged teeth, which are thick and sparse at the two ends, and become gradually finer and denser towards the center. The inner surface of the shell also has a protuberance comparable to the ribbed pattern, no ribbed pattern, but a very fine linear pattern; the closed-shell muscle scar is conspicuous, the anterior closed-shell muscle scar is ovate, smaller, pointed at the lower end, and the posterior closed-shell muscle scar is in the shape of a chicken's heart. Middle and upper parts of both shells extremely swollen. The margin of the coat is thick, corrugated, and the outer side is imprinted with the same teeth as the margin of the shell. Foot not very well developed. No foot filaments.
Lives in shallow muddy bottoms, especially near estuaries with freshwater inflow.
Distributed in China's coastal areas, to the Shandong Peninsula of the Yangjiaogou, Hebei Tanggu, Liaoning Liaohekou and other places in the majority.
3. Arca inflata
Arca inflata Reeve--Arcaenidae
Body shape is similar to that of Arca inflata, but the two shells on the left and right are equal, the top of the shell is protruding and inwardly rolled, located in the front of the back, the front of the shell is obtuse-rounded, backwardly tapering and narrowing, and slanting down from behind the back, and there are 42-48 radial ribbed patterns on the shell (usually 43), smooth and neat, and the width of ribbed patterns and intercostal grooves is very wide, and the width of the inter-costal grooves is very small. Ribs and intercostal grooves equal in width, shell surface covered with brown tunic and hairs, very easy to shed, ligaments pike-like, black-brown horny thick skin, about 2/3 of the shell length, inner surface of the shell white, slightly grayish near the top, margin thick, with elongate teeth comparable to the radial ribs and grooves on the shell surface and protruding, without radial ribs but with very weak radial stripes. Articulated part straight, with about 70 articulated teeth, tapering from both ends towards the center, both coat scar and closed-shell muscle scar conspicuous, the former closed-shell muscle scar smaller, nearly round, the latter slightly larger, square-like; coat membrane margin thick, with folded walls, outer side with incised lines comparable to marginal teeth. No foot filaments.
Lives in shallow marine muddy bottoms.
Distributed in the Yellow and Bohai Seas, the East China Sea and the South China Sea, with more in Lianjiaogang, Qingdao, Shidao, Jinzhou and other places.
