Soak the melon seeds with clear water to remove the bad seeds floating on the surface, leaving full and healthy seeds. Stir the selected seeds in warm water at 60℃, soak them for one night when the water temperature gradually drops to about 30℃, take out the seeds, wrap them with moist gauze, and put them in an environment of about 25~30℃ for germination until the seeds appear white germ.
2. Sowing and raising seedlings
Use sandy soil, humus soil and garden soil as seedbeds, spread seeds evenly on the seedbeds, cover them with film after watering, keep the temperature and humidity, and remove the film when the seedlings grow.

Transplant seedlings with more than three true leaves into sunny soil. The soil should maintain good irrigation and drainage performance. When planting, apply thin fertilizer frequently and be sure to give enough water. After the soil surface is dry, it should be watered immediately and covered with a layer of straw to keep the soil moist.

Golden melons like warm environment, so the planting time is generally chosen in early March, and the climate begins to pick up soon after the seedlings grow. The specific planting time needs to be adjusted according to different regions, for example, East China needs to be planted from the end of March to April.
