De Yue Lou
De Yue Lou was founded in the Ming Dynasty, and has a history of more than four hundred years, which can be called the longest-lived "old star" in the Suzhou old shops. When Emperor Qianlong traveled to the south of the Yangtze River, he dined at the restaurant and named it "The First Restaurant in the World" because of the delicious taste of its dishes. The famous dishes in the restaurant include: Mandarin fish with squirrel, chicken with moon, Xi Shi playing with the moon, fire square with honey, duck with wormwood, shrimp with conch, pulling cake with jujube mud, and boat point in Su style.
Luqiaozhuang
Luqiaozhuang was first established in 1663, the second year of the Kangxi period, and is more than 300 years old. It is most famous for its cherry-red, tender and juicy meat in sauce, which is a must-try seasonal delicacy for Suzhou people in spring. Every year, when it goes on sale in March, the queue can reach several miles away.
