1, composition: dolomite is mainly composed of calcium carbonate, while containing traces of magnesium, iron and manganese and other elements; limestone mainly contains calcium carbonate and a small amount of magnesium, iron, aluminum and other elements. Dolomite relative to limestone is more pure, and higher hardness.
2, hardness: dolomite hardness, Mohs hardness of 3.5 to 4; and limestone hardness is low, only Mohs hardness 3 or so.
3, specific gravity: the specific gravity of dolomite is larger than limestone, the former is 2.8 to 2.95, the latter is 2.7.
4, compressive strength: the compressive strength of dolomite is less than 3,000 kilograms per square centimeter; and limestone in the less than 1,000 kilograms per square centimeter.
