The nature and flavor are bitter and slightly cold. Enters the heart and liver meridians.
Effects and Indications
1. Qufeng and dredging collaterals are used for rheumatic heat paralysis, muscle spasm, joint redness, swelling, heat and pain. It is often used with Atractylodes, Cortex Phellodendri, Achyranthes bidentata, etc.
2. It is used to cool blood and reduce swelling. It is used for carbuncle swelling and pain. It is often combined with frankincense, myrrh, sapodilla thorn, etc.; for throat swelling and congestion, it can be decoctioned in water alone and swallowed slowly.
Dosage: 6~15g, decoct in water and take.
Contraindicated use should not be used by those with yang deficiency, fear of cold and loose stools.
