So you don't have to feed it at ordinary times, just put more aquatic plants in the fish tank. When raising black shell shrimp, you can give it some red worms, feed, spinach and other foods appropriately, but you don't need to give too much.
Black shell shrimp is a kind of mild shrimp, which will not attack any fish in the aquarium, and does not need special feeding or high temperature (but try to avoid high temperature). Black shell shrimp can be said to be an excellent fish tank cleaner. Be careful not to mix black shell shrimp with too fierce fish such as betta, stickleback and goby. In this case, even if you avoid more black shell shrimp, you will be completely eaten.
Tips for polyculture:
Because the black shell shrimp is small, it is easy to be attacked when mixed with some ornamental fish, so it is suitable to be mixed with some docile small ornamental fish, but it must be avoided to be mixed with ornamental fish that move at night. During the growth of black shell shrimp, it will molt once every once in a while, usually at night. When molting, shrimp's body will smell like fish, while nocturnal fish usually have a keen sense of smell and are good at drilling holes, which is very dangerous for molting black shell shrimp.
For this reason, we usually arrange some hidden objects in the aquarium at night to hide them, and don't turn on the lights at will, because in general, the black shell shrimp is most active before midnight.
