Chan Nyangnya, or a native Chinese, is a descendant of the Ming Dynasty who settled in Manraja (Malacca), Manboyi (Indonesia) and Sri Lanka (Singapore) in the early 15th century. It is a descendant of the marriage of ancient China immigrants and indigenous Malays in Southeast Asia. Most of them are originally from Chaoshan area in Fujian or Guangdong, and they are called baba nyonya. Men are called Baba "Baba" and women are called Nyonya "Nyonya".
