In 195 B.C., Liu Bang, the first emperor of Han Dynasty, pacified the rebellion of King Ying Bu of Huainan, passed through his hometown of Pei County, and entertained the townspeople with dog meat as a drink. When he was drunk and hearty, he wrote a song called "Song of the Great Wind", which reads, "The great wind rises and the clouds fly, the mighty man is returned to his hometown, and he is able to keep the fierce men guarding the four directions now! Today, Peixian dog meat along with the "Song of the Great Wind" famous throughout the world.
