The differences between the two are as follows:
1. Different varieties. French beans are annual herbaceous plants, including Bifeng, Qingdao frame beans, white-flowered kidney beans, Yunfeng, and flower-skin beans. The plants called nutmeg include lentils, kidney beans, nutmeg, etc.;
2. Different growth habits. Green beans like warmth and cannot tolerate frost. The temperature range for their seeds to germinate is 20-30℃. They cannot germinate if they are below 10℃ or above 40℃. Seedlings are sensitive to changes in temperature. They will begin to lose green at low temperatures of 2-3°C for a short period of time and suffer frost damage at 0°C. Meat beans like tropical and subtropical climates, have weak cold resistance and avoid water accumulation. They are best grown in deep, soft, fertile and well-drained loam.
