Misgurnus anguillicaudatus is omnivorous and can eat rice, but it needs to be mashed, and rice can't be stained with oil. Misgurnus anguillicaudatus usually feeds on benthic organisms such as algae and zooplankton in sludge. When loach, insects, small crustaceans, water worms, tender plant stems and leaves are artificially fed. You can also feed them with bean cakes, bean dregs and bran. Misgurnus anguillicaudatus is the most voracious eater of animals, especially fish eggs. After laying eggs, if they are not taken away in time, they will often eat their own eggs.
