2. Harmless trace amounts of muscarine are also found in fungi of the genera Boletus, Amanita, Lactobacillus and Russula. Some fungi have variable muscarinic content, such as Amanita muscaria, which typically accounts for 0.0003% of fresh weight, compared to fungi of the genera Amanita and Coccinella, which can contain up to 1.6% muscarine.
