1) The planting distance between varieties should be at least 1000 meters, which can be shortened to about 500 meters if there are natural isolation barriers such as mountains.
2) When a small amount of seeds are reserved by artificial isolation method, paper bags can be put on before the male and female flowers open1~ 2 days, or the petals can be clamped with fuses and small plastics. When pollinating, the newly opened male flowers are coated on the stigma of the female flowers, and then the paper bags can be put back or the petals can be clamped to prevent insects from pollinating. Artificial pollination should be carried out from 6: 00 am to 8: 00 am.
(2) Harvesting seed melons can only be harvested when they reach physiological maturity, that is, the skin changes from green to yellowish, or from white to yellowish-white, and the skin is smooth and hard, with prickly seeds and hard thorns. Choose the fruit with long, big and straight melon shape, less thorns, shallow longitudinal ditch and no wound as the seed melon. The size of seed melon is closely related to rooting and budding, and the weight of single melon150 ~ 200g is generally suitable. It has high maturity and quick germination. If you don't sow immediately, you should choose about eight ripe melons as seeds and store them at12 ~15℃.
