Loquat is native to Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Fujian, Taiwan, Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangdong, and Guangxi, China; it is widely cultivated throughout the world, with wild populations in Hubei and Sichuan; it is also cultivated in Japan, Vietnam, India, Myanmar, Thailand, and Indonesia.
