Shanxi Shuixian Reservoir is located in the lower section of the main stream of the North Yellow River, with Yichuan County in Shaanxi Province on the right bank and Jixian County in Shanxi Province on the left bank. According to the inquiry of official website of Shanxi Shuixian Reservoir, the reservoir was relocated on October 22nd, 2022/kloc-0, for the national railway construction.

The ancient water conservancy project of the Yellow River is located in the lower section of the main stream of the North Yellow River. The right bank of the dam site is Yichuan County, Shaanxi Province, and the left bank is Jixian County, Shanxi Province. It is 235.4 kilometers away from the Qikou dam site on the upper side and/kloc-0.1km away from the Hukou Waterfall on the lower side. The controlled drainage area is 489,944 square kilometers, accounting for 7 1% of the drainage area of Sanmenxia Reservoir. Ancient water conservancy project is one of the seven key projects in the main stream of the Yellow River, which is determined in the Outline of the Yellow River Regulation and Development Plan. It is an important part of the water and sediment regulation system of the Yellow River. It has comprehensive benefits such as flood control, siltation reduction, water supply, power generation and irrigation, and has not yet started construction.
