Root (leaf) of Illicium verum
Primordium is the root, fibrous root or root bark (leaf) of Alangium chinense (Lour.) Harms, a plant of Illicium.
Synonymous white dragon beard, white gold stripe, white tendon stripe.
Pungent, warm and poisonous in nature.
Meridian entering heart, lung, stomach and kidney.
It has the functions of expelling wind, dredging collaterals, removing blood stasis, relieving pain, and relaxing muscles with anesthetic. Indications: rheumatic pain, numbness and paralysis, heart failure, low back pain due to strain, traumatic injury, etc.
clinical application
1. sciatica
(1) Huang moumou, male, 48 years old, saw a doctor on1August 3, 978. Because of cold and sleeping in the cold, the buttocks are painful, it is inconvenient to walk and it is difficult to sit up. The community hospital diagnosed "sciatica". After being treated with hormones and anti-rheumatic drugs for half a month, the symptoms were relieved, but they recurred after stopping taking drugs. After 3 days of treatment with Bailongxu Pill, the symptoms were relieved, and after 4 days of treatment, all the pain disappeared. Duhuo Jisheng Decoction was used to deal with the aftermath. (2) Zhou Moumou, female, 52 years old. 1979 10. Because of the aversion to cold, pain in both sides of the waist and legs, hand and foot contracture, unfavorable flexion and extension, and then hip and hip popliteal fossa, below the lateral side of the calf, persistent pain, sitting-up activities are more dramatic. Treatment with hormones 1 month, the effect is not good. Later, the patient was treated with Bailong beard (i.e. octagonal maple root) pill, combined with Duhuo Jisheng decoction (reuse angelica, add aconite root and Polygonum multiflorum Thunb. 30g each) for 5 days, and his condition gradually improved, and he recovered after taking it for 5 days. Follow-up after 4 years, never relapsed.
Treatment: Take 30 grams of dried white dragon beard (i.e. the root of Illicium verum), grind it into fine powder, add appropriate amount of honey, and make 30 pills, each time 1 pill. 2-3 times a day, or it can be made into decoction and taken as appropriate.
2. ankle sprain
Li Moumou, female, 36 years old. 19881October 5th. The patient accidentally fell down the stairs that afternoon, and his right ankle turned inward excessively, resulting in blue swelling of his right ankle, which was unfavorable for walking. He was externally applied with anise maple leaf powder mixed with vinegar, and the swelling disappeared after dressing change the next day, and then he was externally applied with 1 dose, which was cured.
Treatment: Take a proper amount of Illicium verum maple leaf, grind it into fine powder, mix it with vinegar to make it into a paste, apply it externally to the affected area, and fix it with a bandage. Precautions: Bailong beard (root of Illicium verum) is toxic, and the therapeutic dose is very close to the toxic dose. The dosage must start from a small dose and gradually increase until it becomes weak. According to the herbal literature, it is safe to use 6 grams of thick roots every day and no more than 3 grams of fibrous roots. When taking this medicine, there has been no poisoning incident, and side effects have been found. Only those who are weak and take it on an empty stomach can disappear without stopping taking the medicine. If it is serious, stop taking the medicine and disappear or reduce it immediately. The root of Illicium verum is used externally: decocted and washed. This product contains alkaloids, which have muscle relaxation and analgesic effects. Excessive use can cause hematuria, adrenal hemorrhage and muscle tremor, and even respiratory arrest. According to folklore, radish seed can save the acute poisoning of Illicium verum, but in animal experiments, radish seed, atropine, nicolaide, Huisuling and neostigmine can't save the respiratory depression of Illicium verum, so artificial respiration or mechanical respiration must be used for rescue.
