Chinese cinnamon
Cinnamon is a common noun in Chinese medicine prescriptions. If you find a piece to chew, it will feel fragrant and spicy, but it will soon have a hint of sweetness. It's actually cinnamon bark.
Cinnamomum cassia is an evergreen tree of Lauraceae, also known as Cinnamomum cassia and Cinnamomum cassia. Its bark, branches, leaves, fruits and pedicels can all extract aromatic oil, which is used in food, beverage, cigarettes and medicine, but it is often used as the essence of spices, cosmetics and daily necessities. The oil yield of bark is 2. 15%, cassia twig 0.35%, cinnamon leaf 0.39% and cinnamon fruit (young fruit) 2.04%. Each part can be used as medicine separately. Bark, also known as cinnamon, is a traditional precious Chinese herbal medicine, which has the effects of expelling wind, invigorating stomach, promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis, dispelling cold and relieving pain. Branches can sweat, drive away wind and dredge meridians.
Cinnamon is native to China and distributed in hot and humid areas such as Guangxi, Guangdong, Fujian, Taiwan Province and Yunnan, especially in Guangxi. Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia and other places are also distributed. Cinnamomum cassia is mostly cultivated artificially, with seed propagation as the main method, so that its offspring can keep the characteristics of their parents and get a tall trunk under the branches, which is beneficial to peeling cinnamon. Therefore, asexual propagation is rarely used in production to cultivate seedlings for planting.

Properties This product is in the shape of a trough or a roll, with a length of 30 ~ 40 cm, a width or diameter of 3 ~ 10 cm and a thickness of 0.2 ~ 0.8 cm. The outer surface is gray-brown, slightly rough, with irregular fine wrinkles and laterally protruding lenticels, and some can be seen with gray-white markings; The inner surface is reddish brown, slightly flat, with fine longitudinal stripes and oil stains. Hard and brittle, easy to break, uneven section, rough brown outer layer, reddish-brown oily inner layer, with 1 yellowish brown stripes between the two layers. Rich in flavor, sweet and spicy.

(1) Cross section of this product: Cork cell series, the outer wall of the innermost cell is thickened and lignified. There are scattered stone cells and secretory cells in the cortex. There are stone cells in the stele sheath, which are arranged intermittently in a ring shape and accompanied by fiber bundles on the outside. Stone cells usually have a thin outer wall. The phloem ray width is 1 ~ 2 rows of cells, containing fine calcium oxalate needles; The fibers are usually 2 ~ 3 bundles; Oil cells can be seen everywhere. Parenchyma cells contain starch granules.
The powder is reddish brown. Most fibers are scattered individually, long spindle-shaped, 195 ~ 920μ m in length, about 50μm in diameter, thick wall, lignified and inconspicuous pits. Stone cells are square or round, with a diameter of 32 ~ 88 microns, thick walls and some thin sides. Oil cells are round or oblong, with a diameter of 45 ~ 108 μ m, and needle-like crystals of calcium oxalate are fine and scattered in radiation cells. Cork cells are polygonal and contain reddish-brown substances.
(2) Take 0.5g of this product powder, add 10ml ethanol, plug it tightly, soak it in cold water for 20min, shake it from time to time, filter it, and take the filtrate as the test solution. Ethanol was added to another cinnamaldehyde reference substance to prepare a solution containing 1 microliter per 1 ml as the reference substance solution. According to the thin-layer chromatography test (Appendix ⅵ b), suck 2 ~ 5 μ l of the test solution and 2μl of the reference solution, respectively spot them on the same silica gel G thin-layer plate, use petroleum ether (60 ~ 90℃)-ethyl acetate (17:3) as the developing agent, develop, take out, dry and spray the dinitrophenylhydrazine ethanol test solution. In the chromatogram of the test sample, spots with the same color appear in the position corresponding to the chromatogram of the control sample.
Sexual taste is spicy, sweet and hot. Kidney, spleen, heart and liver meridians.
Function: It is mainly used to tonify fire, strengthen yang, induce fire to return to the source, dispel cold and relieve pain, promote blood circulation and dredge menstruation. It can be used for treating impotence, palace cold, cold pain in waist and knees, asthma due to kidney deficiency, dizziness due to yang deficiency, red eyes and sore throat, cold pain, vomiting and diarrhea due to deficiency of cold, cold hernia, dolphin running, amenorrhea and dysmenorrhea.
Usage and dosage:1~ 4.5g.
Pay attention to the bleeding tendency and pregnant women with caution, and should not be used with halloysite.
