1, land selection and soil preparation
The thorn bud was originally a wild vegetable, so the requirement for soil is not very strong, but if it is planted artificially, it has certain requirements for yield and quality. Therefore, we still have to choose soft and acidic soil with deep soil, sufficient fertility, strong permeability and good irrigation and drainage. Do not choose sticky and waterlogging-prone soil, which will have great influence on the germination and later growth of Aralia elata seeds. After land selection, soil preparation should be done in time, with deep ploughing and fine ploughing as the main methods to improve soil permeability. Then combine with the application of sufficient decomposed farmyard manure, and control the dosage according to the planting area.
2, timely planting
Sow at the right time after the land is cleared, and the main planting method of Aralia elata is seedling raising and transplanting. There are two methods of seedling raising: border planting and ridge planting. Choose the suitable planting method according to your own planting technology. If it is a border planting, first do a good job in the field with a height of 25 cm and a width of 1 m. Then dig the furrow, and apply the base fertilizer when sowing, control the sowing density, water enough after sowing, cover with fine soil, and step on it, so as to improve water retention and prevent drought. When the seedlings grow to about 8- 12 cm, and the stems grow out of thorns, they can be transplanted and planted. After planting, it is necessary to strengthen ventilation, control moisture, control the temperature above 12 degrees, ensure the soil humidity above 60%, and promote the growth of seedlings.
3. Water and fertilizer management
The growth of thorn buds needs water, especially in the seedling stage. It is necessary to ensure that the soil is moist, and try to choose a clean water source next to the planting site for later watering. Pay attention to the weather changes, water in time after drought, but do a good job of drainage in rainy days. Prevent the roots of thorn buds from breathing, retting roots from rotting and causing diseases and pests. In addition, in the growth period of thorn buds, topdressing should be done in time according to soil fertility and plant growth, and the topdressing times should not be less than twice. Attention should be paid to the proportion and dosage of fertilizer nutrition to prevent the thorn buds from lacking nutrition and growing poorly or causing the thorn buds to grow in vain.
4. Field management
The threat of weeds in the year when the thorn buds were planted was relatively great, so we should do a good job of weeding first. Usually, leguminous herbicides can be used, but attention should be paid to the dosage and spraying position to avoid excessive concentration to inhibit the growth of thorn buds. If weeding is done manually, care should be taken not to hurt the root of the thorn bud, which will hinder the respiration and nutrient absorption of the thorn bud and reduce the yield and quality. In addition, we also need to prune the higher thorn buds of plants properly to promote the development of branches and roots and improve the yield of thorn buds. Prune at the base of the branch, keep about 5 lateral buds, and then cut off the upper part of the plant to prevent the plant from growing in vain.
5. Precautions
The root system of Aralia elata is developed, and the branches and leaves are luxuriant. If the row spacing is too narrow, it will affect the ventilation and light, resulting in the excessive growth of the stems and leaves. Therefore, one plant can be planted per square meter, and the row spacing 1.8 meters and the plant spacing of 0.6 meters are the most reasonable planting distances, and about 700 plants can be planted per acre of land. Attention should be paid to weeding it in time, but also to prevent spring drought, and water it in time as soon as it is found.
