Jared is not just the lead singer of the band, on the first album he included almost all the jobs except drummer, vocals, guitar, bass, synthesizing, arranging ...... The band's hit song also came from Jared. He also does most of the outreach work and interviews for the band. So Jared can definitely be considered the soul of this band, and he takes a surprisingly serious approach to his music.

The band is starting from a somewhat unexpectedly high base, and for their first album they've enlisted the help of rock veteran Bob Ezrin. Jared and the guys are Pink Floyd fans and believed that only Bob Ezrin could make the music they wanted. Bob Ezrin has worked on albums by Pink Floyd, David Bowie and many others. You don't just have to have money to hire a big name producer like that. The second album was helmed by Josh Abraham, who produced the VR album, the hottest producer in rock today, and VP of Viking. In addition, the band went on to open for Puddle of Mudd (America's leading band) on a six-week tour before releasing the album. Then they opened for Incubus, which was a thrill to have to face an audience of 20,000 people as soon as they took the stage.

The world of rock and roll is a harsh and brutal one, and it doesn't care if you're a Hollywood star. 30 Seconds to Mars has impressed critics and rock fans alike.
