What is sobriety?
Sobering up is generally used in red wine to sober up and restore the fragrance of wine. This process is called "sober up". Why are you awake?
Impurities removal: Red wine is usually placed flat or tilted 30 degrees. After a long time, there will be precipitation. Just open the wine and drink it. These impurities will make the wine turbid and affect the taste, so it is necessary to precipitate and sink the impurities. Softening tannins: Red wine is poured out to sober up, in order to contact with oxygen, soften tannins and improve the quality and taste of red wine. Release aroma: wine will have an odor when it is stored for a long time, which will mask the aroma of wine itself. After sobering up, the wine will undergo an oxidation reaction with oxygen in the air, and the aroma of the wine will be volatilized again.
How to sober up?
There are usually professional containers to sober up. Wine is released from a narrow bottle and poured into a wine filter to "breathe". The sober-up time usually ranges from ten minutes to several hours or even days. The sober-up time varies with the variety of wine grapes, the aging period of the winery, the state of the wine body and even the sober-up device. Generally, wines with poor quality or relatively young or light body do not need to sober up.
