2. Different origins
Black tiger shrimp: distributed over a wide area, from southern Japan, south Korea, coastal my country, Philippines, Indonesia, Australia, Thailand, India to the eastern coast of Africa are distributed.
Jiwei shrimp: Mainly distributed in China along the coasts of Fujian, Taiwan, Guangdong and Guangxi.
3. Different living habits
Black tiger shrimp: Black tiger shrimp grows fast, has strong adaptability, has a variety of feeding habits, and has low requirements for the protein content of the bait (only about 35%). Can tolerate a wide range of salinity and temperatures. The salinity range is 0.2~70‰, and the optimal salinity is 10~20‰; the optimal temperature is 25~32℃. Death will occur if it is higher than 38℃ or lower than 14℃. It also has strong tolerance to hypoxia and can withstand dry dew for a long time, so it is easy to work and transport.
Jiwei shrimp: New Penaeus prawns have strong vitality. Adult shrimps can live in pure fresh water to seawater with a salinity of 35%. The suitable water temperature is 19~32℃. New Penaeus is omnivorous, but prefers carnivorous food. It preys on small crustaceans, cephalopods, shellfish, annelids and aquatic insects. It also eats a large amount of organic detritus, sand algae and other plants. Suitable for sandy mud substrate.
