On 24th, the Embassy of China in Mexico published the 24-hour influenza emergency telephone number on its official website, and told overseas Chinese, China citizens, Chinese-funded institutions and international students in Mexico to call this number if necessary. The Embassy in Mexico reminds everyone to take corresponding preventive measures according to Mexican official requirements.
Recently, severe atypical influenza broke out in some parts of Mexico, with 20 confirmed deaths and dozens of suspected atypical influenza deaths.
On April 24th, all universities, middle schools and primary schools in Mexico City and Mexico State were closed. The government of Mexico City announced the cancellation of the collective activities to be held in the near future. The central government of Mexico asked people to take preventive measures to avoid the spread of influenza. (Sabrina)
