Introduction of cold dew
Cold dew is the seventeenth solar term among the twenty-four solar terms and the fifth solar term in autumn. After the cold dew solar term, the days are getting shorter and shorter, the nights are getting longer and longer, the sunshine is getting less and less, the hot air is slowly receding, and the cold is gradually increasing. The temperature difference between day and night is large, and it is slightly chilly in the morning and evening.
When the cold dew comes, the weather turns from cold to cold. According to the TCM health theory of "nourishing yang in spring and summer and nourishing yin in autumn and winter", people should nourish yin to prevent dryness, moisten the lungs and benefit the stomach. As a result, people have the custom of "eating sesame seeds in cold dew".
In the cold dew season, most parts of the country have entered autumn. In Jiangnan area, people not only admire chrysanthemums, but also have the custom of eating crabs and fishing, and even have the saying of "autumn fishing". Every cold and dew season, the temperature drops rapidly, and the sunlight in the deep water can't penetrate, so the fish swim to the shallow water with higher water temperature, and there is what people call "autumn fishing edge".
