Eight-treasure porridge, also called Laba porridge, is a traditional food to be eaten during Laba Festival every year. Laba porridge originally refers to porridge made of eight different materials, including japonica rice, Gordon Euryale, Coix seed, white lentils, lotus seeds, dates, longan and lilies. But with the changes of the times, the ingredients of Laba porridge that everyone eats now are far more than these, with japonica rice and glutinous rice as the main ingredients.
