Taiyaki (Japanese: たい焼き, 鲷焼き, たいやき, タイヤキ) is a snack originating from Tokyo, Japan. It is mainly made of flour, sugar, milk and baking soda. Wagashi, shaped like a sea bream, is derived from Imagawa yaki.
The recipe for Taiyaki is as follows:
Ingredients: 125g egg liquid, 125g low-gluten flour, 40g fine sugar, 25g honey, 60g pure milk, butter 20 grams.
Accessories: 1g salt, 3g baking powder, appropriate amount of red bean paste.
1. Melt the butter in water and let it cool. Then add the egg liquid, fine sugar, honey, salt, and butter into a clean container. Beat evenly with a manual egg beater. The butter must be cooled. If you add it again, you can melt it in advance and prepare it.
2. Sift the low-gluten flour and baking powder into the egg liquid. Do not omit the sifting step, so that the mixed batter will become more uniform.
3. Use a whisk to stir the batter into a smooth state without particles, add pure milk and stir evenly.
4. Cover the mixed batter with plastic wrap and let it sit for thirty minutes.
5. Brush the Taiyaki mold with a thin layer of butter in advance, pour a portion of the batter into the mold, and then squeeze the red bean paste filling. You can see that the batter only reaches the mold. Half position.
6. Then pour some batter. The batter should cover the red bean filling and pour it down just enough to fill the mold. Cover and heat for three minutes.
7. Remove from the pot and plate, and the Taiyaki is ready.
