As in step 2, uncover the canvas at the other end, requiring the two ends to correspond, as shown below:

As in the picture, use a grinder to grind the uncovered part of the conveyor belt at both ends, with a slope.

Blow off all the dirt from the sanding, wipe on the belt adhesive, and start drying it out a bit for the required amount of time.
