There are great differences in weaving materials and patterns between north and south. The south is made of straw, called sandals. Southern sandals have no soles and no uppers, but ears on the soles. They tied their feet with straw ropes. They are light, waterproof and non-slip, suitable for climbing and hiking.
Most straw sandals in the north are made of cattail to keep warm and protect feet, which is suitable for children and the elderly to wear in winter.
The steps of weaving straw sandals are as follows:
1. Preparation materials: hemp rope, paper, thread, scissors and glue.
2. Cut the paper into a rectangle, then use the metal wire as an assistant, roll up the paper and the metal wire at an angle of 45 degrees, and then fix it with glue to form a paper rope.
3. First, knit the sole, and then start knitting with paper rope, as shown in the figure.
4. When weaving to the length of the rope, apply glue to the end, and then stick it to the next rope.
5. Continue knitting to make the sole big enough.
6. Find the green and red ropes and cross them.
7. Put the rope under it.
8. In this way, all the horizontal ropes will stand up and continue knitting.
9. Mark this position in the middle of the toe cap with yellow rope.
1. Start knitting the toe cap, be careful not to knit all the parts, and knit the toe cap position.
11. Continue knitting and finish toe knitting.
12. Finish the finishing work and weave the paper rope downwards to fix it.
13. cut the rope.
14. Cut all the ropes on it, then apply a layer of glue and stick it firmly. Put your shoes aside until the glue dries.
Precautions:
1. The plant fiber of corn husk is brittle, and the connection between sole and shoelace cannot adapt to strong tension. Please don't do strenuous exercise when wearing, so as not to tear your shoelaces and affect your use.
2. Because corn husks have good permeability and water absorption, if they are accidentally wet, they can be dried before wearing. If it is dirty, you can wipe it with a brush or a wet rag. It can be used after drying in a ventilated place, but it is not allowed to soak in water for a long time, so as not to affect the service life of shoes.
3. Corn husks are not wear-resistant and can't adapt to rough ground friction outdoors, so pure straw sandals are only suitable for indoor or ground use.
