Xuanguang Temple Pier is the most popular among the three piers. In addition to the three most important attractions in Sun Moon Lake: Xuanguang Temple, Xuanzang Temple, and Ci'en Pagoda, you can go ashore to visit from this pier. The most famous "Grandma's Tea Egg" in Sun Moon Lake and the stone engraved with "Sun Moon Lake" are also located here, so there will be long queues after landing. It is recommended to visit Xuanguang Temple first. There will be much fewer people when you return to the pier. After buying the tea eggs, you can eat them on the boat, which not only saves time in queuing, but also allows you to sit on the boat and taste the delicious tea eggs. This is not the only stone with "Sun Moon Lake" engraved on it. There are also different engraved stones in other places. Train: The nearest train station to Sun Moon Lake is not Taichung, but a train ride from the terminus of the Jiji Line. It’s also a nice little town just a short drive away, so you can stop here if you like. After taking the Taiwan Railway, you can transfer to Nantou Passenger Bus 6671 to go to Sun Moon Lake.
Chartered car: Choose a chartered car method with more freedom of time and a more comfortable journey. It is especially suitable for people traveling with a large number of people, or people with parents and children who do not have much energy to choose public transportation. If you rent a car, it is recommended to book it in advance to avoid the time and expense of finding a car after arrival, as well as other uncertain risks.

Vehicles run in both directions, from Taichung to Sun Moon Lake: there is only one departure from Taichung Airport at 15:10 every day, and other departures from Taichung Gancheng Station to Sun Moon Lake Water Club , part of it reaches Xiangshan. Xuanguang Temple: The golden body of Master Xuanzang is enshrined in the temple. Although the parietal bone relics of Master Xuanzang have been moved to Xuanzang Temple, there is still an endless stream of tourists who come here to burn incense. Most tourists came to Xuanguang Temple to burn incense and worship, then returned to the boat to rush to the next stop. Only a handful of tourists walked through the forest and along the Qinglong Mountain Trail to Xuanzang Temple. Recommended visit time: 0.5-1 hour
Cien Pagoda: From Xuanzang Temple, continue walking up the Qinglong Mountain Trail, which takes 1-1.5 hours. This pagoda was built by Chiang Kai-shek in 1971 in memory of his mother, Mrs. Wang Tai. It is an octagonal pagoda modeled after the ancient pagodas of the Liao and Song Dynasties. The tower is built on the top of Qinglong Mountain at an altitude of 955 meters. The tower is 9 stories high and about 45 meters high. The top of the tower is exactly 1000 meters above sea level. Ci'en Pagoda is located at the highest point of Sun Moon Lake, overlooking the entire Sun Moon Lake. If you want to return to Xuanguang Temple Pier and take the boat, you can walk back the same way. Xuanzang Temple: It takes 20-30 minutes to walk along the Qinglong Mountain Trail from Xuanguang Temple. You can also choose the lake tour bus. After Master Xuanzang's ashes were brought back from Japan, they were first enshrined in Xuanzang Temple. After Xuanzang Temple was built, the ashes were moved to Xuanzang Temple. "Master Xuanzang's Journey to the Western Regions" is painted between the two white elephants below the archway of Xuanzang Temple. Slippers are required to go upstairs to visit and pay homage. There is a coin-throwing machine in the courtyard outside the temple. If you are interested, you can play it. Recommended visit time: 1-1.5 hours
Ida Thao: This is a tribe inhabited by Thao aborigines. Ita Thao means "we are people" in Thao language. You can choose to dine here. There are many specialty food stalls not far away from the beach at reasonable prices. In addition to Sun Moon Lake's famous "President Fish", you can also taste local specialties such as mountain pork, shrimp, bamboo chicken, millet wine, etc.

Wenwu Temple: Mainly worships Guan Sheng Emperor, and also worships Confucius and Yue Fei. The temple is divided into three entrances, "sitting" "East to west" with mountains on its back and lake on its back, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Sun Moon Lake from the observation deck in the back hall.
