Train: The nearest train station to Sun Moon Lake is not Taichung, but a train ride from the terminus of the Jiji Line. Xuanguang Temple: The golden body of Master Xuanzang is enshrined in the temple. Most tourists came to Xuanguang Temple to burn incense and worship, then returned to the boat to rush to the next stop. Only a handful of tourists walked through the forest and along the Qinglong Mountain Trail to Xuanzang Temple. Recommended visit time: 0.5-1 hour

Cien Pagoda: From Xuanzang Temple, continue walking up the Qinglong Mountain Trail, which takes 1-1.5 hours. This pagoda was built by Chiang Kai-shek in 1971 in memory of his mother, Mrs. Wang Tai. It is an octagonal pagoda modeled after the ancient pagodas of the Liao and Song Dynasties. The tower is built on the top of Qinglong Mountain at an altitude of 955 meters. The tower is 9 stories high and about 45 meters high. The top of the tower is exactly 1000 meters above sea level. Xuanzang Temple: It takes 20-30 minutes to walk along the Qinglong Mountain Trail from Xuanguang Temple. You can also choose the lake tour bus. After Master Xuanzang's ashes were brought back from Japan, they were first enshrined in Xuanzang Temple. After Xuanzang Temple was built, the ashes were moved to Xuanzang Temple. "Master Xuanzang's Journey to the Western Regions" is painted between the two white elephants below the archway of Xuanzang Temple. Slippers are required to go upstairs to visit and pay homage. Ida Thao: This is a tribe inhabited by Thao aborigines. Ita Thao means "we are people" in Thao language. You can choose to dine here.
