How to make homemade oatmeal energy bar (Granola Bar) ?
Raw materials
1 cup nuts and dried fruit. This time I used almonds, walnuts, pumpkin seed kernels, sunflower seed kernels, raisins, dried cranberries and white coconut flakes. All of these nuts were toasted when you bought them.
Preparation: nuts such as large almonds and walnuts are first chopped into large grains. There is no need to chop them very much. Since they were already cooked nuts, they were mixed directly with the dried fruit. Add together just 1cup.
How to do it:
Step 1: Line a baking tray with tin foil, spread the raw oats on top and bake at 350F (about 180 degrees Celsius) for 15 minutes, taking it out one at a time in between and giving it a stir.
Note: (If the nuts are raw, toast them in the oven with the oats)
Step 2: Remove from the oven after baking. Mix the nuts, dried fruit, and oats.
Step 3: In a small saucepan on the stovetop, pour in 1/4 cup honey and heat over medium heat until the honey boils and bubbles (about 1 minute), turn off the heat immediately.
Step 4: Pour in the oatmeal dried fruit and nut mixture and honey and mix well.
Step 5: Pour the mixture into a baking sheet container lined with baking paper (like a toast pan) and press firmly to flatten.
Step 6: Refrigerate for several hours. The honey will be very solid when it cools. Using a sharp knife, cut into chunks and serve
