Problem Description:
What diseases will occur if the hemoglobin concentration is high?
Analysis:
The normal hemoglobin value for adult men is 120-160g/L, and the normal hemoglobin value for adult women is 110-150g/L.
If the hemoglobin increases slightly and the increase is less than 10g/L, it is generally considered to be of little significance.
If it is still higher, or is accompanied by redness of the face and neck or a history of high blood pressure or thrombotic diseases, then hematological diseases should be considered.
It is generally seen in polycythemia vera and requires regular treatment, otherwise it will easily lead to thrombotic diseases. This disease is not caused by overnutrition as most people say, but is a bone marrow proliferative disease.
Generally, this disease is also accompanied by a mild increase in white blood cells and platelets.
Also seen in idiopathic polycythemia.
The disease progresses slowly, but without formal treatment, thrombosis and embolism are easy to form.
