1. There is no difference between the two, but the names are different. Chengdu people like to call Chengdu Tianfu New District, while Sichuan Tianfu New District is preferred outside Sichuan.

Tianfu New District is a state-level new district under the jurisdiction of Sichuan Province, which consists of Chengdu District and Meishan District of Tianfu New District, with a planned total area of 1,578 square kilometers. Among them, the Chengdu area of Tianfu New District includes Chengdu High-tech Zone, Shuangliu District, Longquanyi District, Xinjin District and parts of jianyang city. Meishan area in Tianfu New District includes Pengshan District and parts of Renshou County.

3. According to the plan of Tianfu New District, Longquan will be built as a functional area of high-end manufacturing industry. In the planning of "One Belt, Two Wings" and "One City, Six Districts" in Tianfu New District, it is particularly emphasized that "East Wing" will be based on Chengdu Economic and Technological Development Zone, and will make efforts to build a high-end automobile industry. The planned Tianfu New District covers an area of 277 square kilometers, of which the planned area of Chengdu Economic Development Zone is more than 16 square kilometers.
