The planting time and variety of Chinese cabbage should be judged according to the region where it is located, so as to maximize its yield, as follows:

1. Autumn and winter Chinese cabbage is widely planted in southern China. Their plant types are erect or girdled, and they are mainly cultivated in autumn and winter. According to the color of petiole, it can be divided into white stalk type and green stalk type. The representative variety of white stalk type is Guangdong dwarf black leaf, and the representative variety of green stalk type is Shanghai dwarf dustpan, which can be given suitable environment and proper care to make it yield high.

2. Spring cabbage has strong winterness, cold tolerance, high yield, and good planting effect in northern autumn and winter. According to bolting and supply period, it can be divided into early spring vegetables and late spring vegetables. The representative varieties of early spring vegetables are Nanjing bright white leaves and white stems, and the representative varieties of late spring vegetables are Nanjing April white stems;

3. Chinese cabbage, with short legs, wide stems, wrinkles, tender and delicious, is an advanced vegetable variety. Commercial vegetables can be harvested within 30 days when sown at the right sowing time. The suitable growth temperature in the Pearl River Delta is 15 to 25 degrees Celsius, which makes bolting easier. It is characterized by storage resistance, high yield, no bolting, dark green leaves, fine veins and sweet and crisp taste.
