Burdock planting time
Burdock likes warm and humid, and has strong cold and heat resistance. Seed germination, growth and development need 20-25 degrees of temperature and strong light. It should be planted in early March in spring, before 1 1 month in autumn in south, before May in north and before September in autumn.
Burdock harvest time
Burdock has a long harvest period. Generally, burdock sown in spring is harvested from early June to early next year, and burdock sown in autumn is harvested from early June to early April of the following year.
Key points of high-yield cultivation of burdock
1, site selection and fertilization
Burdock is a deep-rooted vegetable, so it is required to choose medium sandy loam with deep and fertile soil layer, loose texture and good drainage for cultivation. The land should be ploughed more than 30 cm, and the ridge width should be 2-3 meters, and the decomposed farmyard manure 1500-2000 kg should be applied as the base fertilizer per mu.
2. Seed treatment
Select burdock seeds with full seeds and no plant diseases and insect pests, put them in the sun for 1-2 days, then prepare warm water at 40-50℃, soak them for 1-2 hours, take them out and dry them to prepare for sowing.
Step 3: sow seeds
Burdock can be sown by drilling or hole sowing. Drilling requires digging trenches, and seeds should be evenly scattered in the trenches. Hole sowing needs to pay attention to sowing density, put 4-6 seeds in each hole, then cover 2-3 cm of soil and gently press a layer of grass to keep moisture. When it appears, remove the covering grass and prepare for thinning.
4. Tian Tuan management
After the burdock emerges, it should be interplanted. Usually, when the seedlings grow 2-3 true leaves, the seedling spacing should be 10 cm, and when the seedlings grow 5-8 true leaves, the seedling spacing should be about 25 cm. Once weeds are found, they should be pulled out as soon as possible to reduce the consumption of nutrients.
