Preface

This standard replaces the GB/T 14308-1997 "Tourism Hotel Star Classification and Rating".

This standard and GB/T 14308-1997 compared with the main changes are as follows:

a) with "tourist hotels" instead of "tourism-related hotels", and in accordance with international practice to clarify the definition of tourist hotels;

b)It stipulates that the validity period of the star rating for tourist hotels is five years, abolishing the lifetime star rating system and adding a preparatory star rating (see 5.2);

c)It clarifies the rules of star rating (see 7.5), adding that certain hotels with outstanding characteristics or extremely personalized hotels can apply for a star rating directly to the national star rating agency of tourist hotels (see 7.5.3);

d) appropriately simplify the requirements for food and beverage services (former standards 6.1.6,6.2.6,6.3.7c,e,6.4.9b,d,e,6.5.9b,c,e,f);

e) change the minimum number of guest rooms required for one-star hotels from 20 to 15 (see 6.1.8);

f) combine and consolidate the selection items of the former standard for three-star hotels and above into one item (see 7.5.3);

f) change the original standard for three-star hotels and above into a single item (see 7.5.5) f) Combine the selection items of the original standard three-star hotels and above and summarize them into four major categories, namely, "Comprehensive Category", "Specialty Category I", "Specialty Category II" and "Specialty Category III", and delete the four major categories, namely, "Comprehensive Category", "Specialty Category I" and "Specialty Category III". 1 Scope

This standard specifies the conditions for the division of tourist hotels star rating, assessment rules and service quality and management system requirements.

This standard applies to the formal operation of a variety of economic nature of tourist hotels.

2 normative references

The provisions of the following documents through the reference to this standard and become the provisions of this standard. Where the cited documents are dated, all subsequent amendments (excluding errata) or revisions are not applicable to this standard, however, the parties to the agreement under this standard are encouraged to study whether the latest version of these documents can be used. 3 Terminology and definitions

The following terminology and definitions are applicable to this standard:

3.1

Tourist hotel

Tourist hotel

Can be able to provide the tourist guests with food and beverage and related services to the time unit of night. Accommodation facilities, according to different habits it is also known as hotels, hotels, inns, hostels, guest houses, resorts, clubs, mansions, centers and so on.

3.2

Star rating star-rating

The number and color of stars indicate the level of tourist hotels. Star rating is divided into five levels, namely one-star, two-star, three-star, four-star, five-star (including platinum five-star). The lowest is one star and the highest is platinum five-star. The higher the star rating, the higher the grade of the tourist hotel.

3.3

Preparatory star rating probationary star-rating

As a supplement to the star rating, its level is the same as the star rating.

4 Symbol

The star-rating is symbolized by a gold-plated five-pointed star, with one five-pointed star for one star, two five-pointed stars for two stars, three five-pointed stars for three stars, four five-pointed stars for four stars, five five-pointed stars for five stars, and five platinum five-pointed stars for five stars in platinum.

5 General

5.2 The hotel can apply for star rating after one year of operation, and can enjoy the right to use the star rating and its logo for five years after the approval of the star rating agency. Less than one year after the opening of the hotel can apply for preparatory star rating, valid for one year.

5.3 Unless this standard has higher requirements, the hotel's building, ancillary facilities, services and operation and management must be in line with the safety, fire, health, environmental protection and other relevant national regulations and standards in force.

6 Conditions for Classification of Stars

6.1 One-star

6.1.1 The layout of the hotel is basically reasonable and convenient for the normal activities of guests in the hotel.

6.1.2 Public **** information graphic symbols in line with the provisions of GB/T10001.1 and GB/T10001.2.

6.1.3 There are adapted to the location of the climate of the heating and cooling equipment, the areas are well ventilated.

6.1.4 Facilities and equipment well-maintained to achieve neat, sanitary and effective.

6.1.5 A variety of instructions and services with text at least in standardized Chinese and English at the same time.

6.1.6 Be able to provide services in English.

6.1.7 Front Office

a. There is a front hall and the main service desk;

6.2.3 There are adapted to the location of the climate of the heating and cooling equipment, the areas are well ventilated.

6.2.4 Facilities and equipment well-maintained to achieve neat, sanitary and effective.

6.2.5 A variety of instructions and services with at least standardized Chinese and English text at the same time.

6.2.6 Be able to provide services in English.

6.2.7 Front Office

6.2.10 Public **** Area

6.3 Three-star

6.3.3 There are air-conditioning facilities, each area is well ventilated, temperature and humidity are appropriate.

6.3.4 There is a computer management system compatible with this star.

6.3.5 The facilities and equipments are well maintained, safe to use, and achieve neatness, hygiene and effectiveness.

6.3.6 The management system is sound, consistent with the size and star rating of the hotel.

6.3.7 A variety of instructions and services with at least standardized Chinese and English text at the same time.

6.3.8 The guest service areas can provide services in Mandarin and English.

6.3.9 Anteroom

a. There is an anteroom suitable for the reception capacity. The interior decoration is beautiful and chic. There is a general service desk appropriate to the size and star level of the hotel;
