Direct seeding water spinach is a fast-growing vegetable, which requires high soil quality. Sandy loam rich in organic matter should be selected for planting. Generally, the border length 15 ~ 20m, the bread border width 1.2m and the border depth of 30cm.
2. Apply plantar fertilizer
After each crop is sown, the mixture of river sand and decomposed and screened soil miscellaneous fertilizer is evenly spread on the border surface as covering soil, and the soil miscellaneous fertilizer is required to be 2000-2500 kg per mu.
3. Seed germination
Soften the seed coat in a natural and humid environment 8~ 10 days before sowing, soak the seeds in water at 20~30℃ for 20 hours about one week later, take them out and wash them, keep them moist, and sow when the seeds turn white. By accelerating germination, seed rot can be prevented and the uniformity of seedling emergence can be improved.
4. Live broadcast
Sowing or drilling can be done, and drilling is more conducive to harvest. The amount of seeds used per mu is 25~30 kg, which should be sparsely planted in season, densely planted in cold season, covered with soil and watered thoroughly.
5, heat preservation and cold protection
Plastic film arch shed is used for heat preservation, moisture preservation and rain protection in cold and dry seasons. Generally, the lowest temperature is below 15℃, and the temperature can be increased by 5~ 10℃ in sunny days.
6, fertilizer and water management
Top dressing 4~5 times in the whole growth period of direct seeding water spinach. 3 kg compound fertilizer, urea 1kg was applied every three days in the early stage, and compound fertilizer was mainly used in the middle and late stage. During the whole growth period, the application of compound fertilizer per mu shall not exceed 20kg and urea shall not exceed 4kg. When topdressing, the fertilizer is made into mother liquor, and then it is evenly applied in combination with watering, and it is applied frequently and thinly.
Step 7 harvest
The harvesting time of Ipomoea aquatica can be flexibly controlled, generally 22-25 days from sowing to harvesting, and the low temperature season can be appropriately extended to 40-45 days, and the plant height can be 35-40 cm.
