Grape seedlings should be planted in spring and autumn, when the climate is mild and suitable for grape seedlings to survive. Spring is the period of budding growth, and long planting time in autumn can improve the survival rate of grape planting.
The quality of grape seedlings can affect the survival rate of planting. First choose a good variety according to your own preferences and local climate. You should choose plump seedlings that grow well, have strong root systems, and are free from diseases and insect pests.
Grape seedlings need to be processed in advance to retain more than 3 full bud points, and cut the side branches to about 15 cm. Soak the pruned grape seedlings in clean water to encourage the seedlings to fully absorb water and take disinfection and sterilization measures.
Planting management:
Plant in sunny, leeward locations with loose and fertile soil. Prepare the soil in advance and remove stones and weeds from the soil surface. Dig a hole according to the diameter of the grape seedlings, add decomposed fertilizer to the bottom of the hole, and then cover it with a layer of soil.
Plant the grape seedlings vertically into the holes to encourage the roots to stretch. After the seedlings are placed, first fill half of the soil with soil, then lift the seedlings slightly upward to make the roots of the seedlings closely fit with the soil, and then fill in the other half with solid soil.
After planting, water thoroughly to promote root growth. Cover the grape seedlings with black mulch to reduce weed growth, maintain temperature and humidity, and increase growth rate.
