Scutellaria barbata (see Figure 2-59), a perennial herb of Labiatae, is used as medicine. The whole plant contains baicalein, baicalin, alkaloids, phenols and steroids. The taste is slightly bitter and the nature is cool. Has the effects of clearing away heat and toxic materials, promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis, relieving swelling and pain, and resisting cancer. Treating hepatitis, ascites due to liver cirrhosis and various cancers; Externally used to treat mastitis, carbuncle and furuncle, poisonous snake bite, traumatic injury, etc. There are many provinces and autonomous regions in southern China. Most of them are wild and cultivated.
I like warm and humid climate, and I don't have high requirements for soil. Under the conditions of annual average temperature 16℃, relative humidity 70% and annual rainfall 1000 mm, it grows well. The optimum temperature for seed germination is 20 ~ 25℃, and it takes about 5 days to germinate, with a germination rate of 96%.
