Lettuce takes 30-40 days from sowing to harvest.
Different varieties of lettuce have different characteristics, so when choosing a sowing time, it's important to know the instructions for the lettuce seeds you're buying and then combine them with the sowing times mentioned above.
Spring sowing of loose-leaf lettuce (such as cream lettuce, colorful leaf lettuce), more heat-resistant, usually in February to April to start sowing, and May to June then can be harvested. Fall sowing of lettuce (also known as western lettuce) is not heat-tolerant, and can be started in late August and harvested in September/October.

Lettuce, leaf lettuce is commonly known as lettuce, also known as goose lettuce, mark lettuce, Lettuce, belongs to the lettuce genus Asteraceae. For annual or biennial herbaceous crops, the leaves are long obovate, dense into a kale-like leaf ball, can be eaten raw, crisp and refreshing, slightly sweet.
Lettuce like cool environment, neither cold, nor heat resistance, the growth of the appropriate temperature of 15 ℃ -20 ℃, the fertility period of 90-100 days. Seeds are more resistant to low temperatures, can germinate at 4 ℃. Germination temperature 18-22 ℃, higher than 30 ℃ almost no germination.
Plant growth period, like cool climate, 15-20 ℃ growth is optimal, high yield, excellent quality; sustained higher than 25 ℃, growth is poor, leaf quality coarse old, slightly bitter taste. But cold hardiness is also quite strong, 0 ℃ or even short-term sub-zero low temperature on the growth of no great obstacle. Lettuce root system is developed, the leaf surface has waxy, drought tolerance is quite strong, but cultivated in fertile and moist soil, high yield, good quality.
